Coming soon: nothing is lost, and there are 14 days to sort it. The tree carries on as normal, and everyone sees a countdown – for example, "Day 3 of 14 – Sally's payment didn't go through. In 11 days this tree goes back to the free 200 people. Nothing will be deleted." Sally sees Update my card. Everyone else sees Let Sally know and Keep the tree going, so Dave or Grandma can chip in the whole amount if Sally's away. After the 14 days the tree goes back to the free size – and renewing brings everyone back at once.
