Family Content
Last updated: Date – to come
The short version.
It's a family space: be kind, only add family you know, and ask before putting private things about living relatives on the tree.
Living people.
Don't add health, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, politics or similar sensitive details about a living person unless they've said yes to it being on the tree. History about people long gone is fine. Reminder wording – to come
Family history can turn up surprises
– about who's related to whom, or what happened long ago. Please take care with what you share, and how.
Not allowed anywhere on the tree:
sexual content; intimate pictures of anyone without consent (including faked ones); anything that harms or puts children at risk; threats, bullying or harassment; anything unlawful; other people's copyrighted work without permission; adding strangers or importing people you don't know.
Children on the tree.
Children under 16 can't have a login. Pictures of children stay inside the tree — the Gallery and the Family Wall — and are never public.
Private messages are private.
The tree's owner can't read your chats, and neither do we — unless someone reports a message to us.
Report this.
Every post, comment, picture and message has Report this. You can say what's wrong in your own words.
- An ordinary report goes to the person who posted it (without your name) and to the tree's owner (with your name), so the family can sort it out.
- Urgent report – to come
- Sensitive-details report – to come

What can happen.
The tree's owner can give someone a time-out. We can pause or close a login for serious or repeated breaks, and we report illegal content to the authorities where the law requires.
