Put in what you know, even just a year – scraps are welcome here, we're not fussy! Every date on the tree is "(if known)", so a year on its own, or a month and year, is perfectly fine. You can always add the full date later when a certificate or an old letter turns up. For example, if Nan always said she married "the summer after the war", put 1946 for now.
