Every tree starts with room for 20 placeholders and 20 loose people. Coming soon: each bigger tree size adds 10 more of each – placeholders top out at 100, while loose people keep on growing. They're all on top of your people, so they never eat into your count: a 1,000-person tree holds 1,000 people plus up to 100 placeholders. For example, say Grandad George's side has three great-grandparents nobody can name yet – that's just 3 of your placeholders, and your people count doesn't change.
